The movie follows St. Nektarios of Aegina, an Orthodox saint from the 1800’s. Although now a Saint, the biophic film shows that his life was full of slander and disapproval. Even with his false reputation, he established a convent on a barren and desolate island called Aegina. It still stands today as a pilgrimage site where his memory is forever remembered. Our ministry will watch the movie together as a “kickoff” event and for a theatrical introduction into Eastern Christian Spirituality.
